Wooooo!!!!! Bring on the second round!

Recap after the jump...

To start the game the Canucks did not look like they wanted to win this game. Did they miss the memo that the game started at 6pm and not 7? In the first and second period the Kings outshot the Canucks 26 to 11 and were up 2-1. In the second period, with the Kings up 1-0, Simmonds makes a pass to Smyth and Luongo in desperation on his back just robs Smyth of a goal.

Just a minute later to reward Luongo for making that ridiculous save, Bernier comes up a tip in off of Alex Edler's shot for his 4th goal. The Kings reclaim the lead as Doughty scored his 3rd goal of the playoffs just after the Kings powerplay had expired. The highlight of this goal was the congratulatory glove in the face of Doughty.

But then came the third where Bieksa tied up the game 1:57 into the period and this seemed to ignite the Canucks. They pressured hard, and for once this series I finally noticed Ryan Kesler and Alex Burrows on the ice. At 17:57 in the third off of an attempted shot that broke the stick of Samuelsson came a wrist shot from Daniel Sedin that was the go ahead goal for the Canucks.

Notice the pass from O'Brien to Daniel and then O'Brien driving hard to the net, love that.

With Quick pulled, the Kings tried to tie up the game with a minute left but the Canucks were able to get the puck out of their zone for Burrows to get his first goal of the playoffs in the form of an empty net goal. Game over Kings.

Woo! We're going to round 2!
